BELLE VUE GEARS UP FOR A NIGHT OF LIVE `GEARS & TEARS!'
The sports Northern capital of Stock Car Racing Belle Vue hosts a spectacular and poignant night of Formula One thunder on Bank Holiday Monday 30th August when the Big League return to Manchester! Feel the ground literally shake and the unique passion, rivalry and unique atmosphere of BriSCA F1 Stock Car Racing!
Bank Holiday Monday night's event is a World Final shakedown for many drivers including visitors from New Zealand and Australia attempting to get to grips with the thunder and full on contact of UK style 600 brake-horsepower, 7 litre maximum torque Stock Car Racing - The toughest motorsport in the World - no hype!
The sport is currently a cult hit in a BBC 1 six part series currently being aired at 10.35.pm on Monday evenings and next weeks show features the British from Belle Vue in 2009.
Startrax & Belle Vue are planning a massive evenings full on race action with many of the stars of the series in action followed by a unique GEARS & TEARS party in the stadiums Sportsmans Bar after the meeting when race fans can mix with the sports stars and hopefully watch the hit series on the huge stadium Big Screen and make a real carnival night and savour the atmosphere - and rivalry!
[ Edited Tuesday ] Next weeks broadcast is on TUESDAY 31st at 10.35.pm having just checked with shows producers ] so a great reasons to come and mingle with stars, savour the REAL GEARS & TEARS LIVE, meet some of the personalities and then watch Belle Vue from October 2009 on TV from your armchair Tuesday.
John Lakey, the series co-producer is currently on holiday as is 99% of the BBC currently however he/we are trying to see if we can put something together a little different to celebrate the series and it's historic involvement - watch this space for more info ]
Is the rivalry as intense as seen on TV ? Well there is one way to find out, come to Belle Vue and watch the stunning action LIVE and then watch the hit BBC show with the stars of this bold, brash and completely larger than life motorsport - and then, judge for yourself !
A growing entry list for Monday's event promises a fantastic and passionate night of racing with an extra edge plus an explosive combination of support races for the BriSCA Formula Two Stock Cars and All action Banger Racing with the appropriately titled TERMINATOR event for the Kings of Destruction - guaranteeing a night of thrills and excitement for all the family.!
It's all happening at BELLE VUE GREYHOUND STADIUM, Manchester M18 7BA
Monday 30th August at 5,00.pm - The 2010 Pre World Final SHAKEDOWN and one of the few opportunities to met foreign race aces and see a brand new F1 car built and imported direct from New Zealand and shipped over for an assault on this years title - and in action at Belle Vue!
BriSCA Formula One Stock Car Racing received a welcome mid season boost today with confirmation that the GEARS & TEARS programme featuring the sport has now hit the schedules.
Devised and produced by Charlie Clay who also produced Trawlermen and Coast together with oval race fan John Lakey, the series provides a unique inside docu style view of the sport across the 2009 season.
Whilst concentrating on the generational rivalry of Lancashire's Smith team and Yorkshires Wainman family it features an intriguing and compelling insight into the real `blood, sweat and tears' as the two families, Andrew and Stuart Smith and Frankie and Danny Wainman battle it out for the seasons top honours.
It also picks up on many of the characters of the sport.
The BBC production team were omni present across the spectrum of venues in 2009 and were there to the end as the season finale climaxed at Manchesters Belle Vue which also staged the 2009 British Championship.
The 6 part series commences on BBC1 from Monday 2nd August at 10.35.pm

SUCCESSFUL PR AT FIRST BOLTON `LE MANS' SHOW
Startrax were invited and participated in the inaugural `Le Mans' town centre 2 day show in Bolton Town Centre which was gauged a big success for it's first year.
As in all `new' events there are many things that can be improved upon and whilst on Saturday our Oval cars were in a quieter area adjacent to Debenhams, we had a second site for Sunday.
A number of BriSCA and non BriSCA cars were on display over the two days and literally hundreds of fixture lists were distributed and photograph sessions with Kids [ and Adults!] in cars and there was a high level of interest achieved,
Startrax would like to thank the drivers and race teams who assisted over the weekend and the Goring family without whose help resource would have been stretched Sunday!
In conversations with the event organiser, we have been offered a much bigger involvement in the 2011 event which we have accepted and have been assured considerable ongoing PR locally following the event

OVAL RACING at the
Trafford Centre - Manchester
Thanks to 4fs Marketing and Paul
Brown, Startrax and Buxton
exhibited at a major event this
weekend at the Trafford Shopping
Centre Manchester, attended by
myself and Matt Watson from
Buxton.
Colin Chambers and Mickey
Brennan brought along their cars
for the two days and a Hot Rod
from Buxton and with an
estimated several thousand
attendance over the 2 days, was
a very worthwhile exercise in
meeting a new potential audience
and was a big PR success.
We
have been invited on the back of
this to be part of a LE MANS
weekend mid June in Bolton Town
Centre which again affords a
good PR opportunity.
Many thanks to Paul for his time
and for putting it all together
and the drivers for contributing
their cars.

2010 BANGER NEWS
As a promotion
reflecting our increasing
commitment to these formulae we
have worked much harder in
trying to increase our footprint
in Banger Racing and create more
`local' drivers. As I have
stated before we have in
previous years not afforded
these classes the time and
effort they deserve - and the
support we have received - and
hope that this meets with our
approval. We are open to drivers
suggestions and we are flexible
on adopting any good ideas that
you may bring forward - feel
free to post or pm us with your
views.
There are major
events in each category that we
will work hard to build upon and
our first `biggie' is the 2
Litre KING OF THE NORTH at BELLE
VUE on Sunday 21st March which
got off to a resounding start.
We will announce more details re
this meeting in February - and
hopefully a welcome surprise
incentive for the winner once
all is confirmed.
The only Banger
formula we have yet to complete
dates for are Junior Bangers
which will be decided after
their trial events on January
17th and February 16th - If
there is sufficient driver
support and the events run
smoothly then they will be
offered fixtures in the main
season.
The breakdown
gives 14 dates for the ever
popular Startrax Bangers [
formerly Rookies ] reflecting
their growing support and we are
looking to widen and increase
the driver base in the North.
We are looking
at different ideas to make the 2
Litre Banger scene more vibrant
and special and they have 9
dates which includes a more
suitable date for the 2 Litre
Battle of Britain, TERMINATOR
moves to a Bank Holiday date in
August with the winner going to
Ipswich WF, it as had to come
forward due to the WF moving
forward to October however it
leaves us to build a much bigger
2 litre meeting on the 7th
November featuring the second
staging of the ENGLAND v WALES
Team Race in conjunction with
the North Wales based COASTAL
RACEWAY.
There are other plans in the
pipeline.
UNLIMITEDS
retain their annual biggy at
OWLERTON on 9th MAY - BATTLE OF
BRITAIN and is followed up at
SHEFFIELD on 5th September [
brought forward 7 days from the
original fixture list draft due
to the Autospeed World moving ]
This will carry the prestigious
ANDY HOLMES TROPHY as well as
what will be a coveted EURO 2010
title.
Unlimited have one outing
scheduled at Belle Vue on 17th
January which we hope will be
sufficiently supported [ and
weather permitting!] to enable
us to grow it in 2011 and beyond
into a major event.
RELIANT ROBINS
have a provisional series
planned depending very much on
driver support.
BIG VANS who
stole the show on December 28th
are back with two outings plus
on one of the big Bank Holiday
Mondays we have re introduced
HEARSES & LIMOUSINES which we
hope will be supported -
Attractive travel money will be
available - contact the office
for details.
As I started, please feel free to
pm me with your comments. Have a great 2010 and we will
update Banger information w/c
10th February.
